Dr Prue Johnstone is a Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist with over 15 years' experience in reproductive medicine. As Clinical Director of Monash IVF Geelong, she offers a comprehensive fertility service to individuals and couples across the Greater Geelong and Surfcoast region, combining specialist expertise with a warm, personalised approach that puts patients at the centre of their care.

Prue's areas of focus include female and male infertility, PMOS, recurrent miscarriage, egg freezing, donor treatment, surrogacy, and LGBTQIA+ fertility care. Having grown up and raised her own family in Geelong, she understands the importance of accessible, high-quality fertility care close to home.

  • Dr Prue Johnstone is a Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist with more than 15 years of experience in reproductive medicine.

    She holds an MBBS with honours from Monash University, FRANZCOG Obstetric and Gynaecology specialist qualifications gained through the Mercy Hospital for Women, and a Master of Reproductive Medicine through the University of New South Wales.

    Prue is Clinical Director of Monash IVF Geelong and a Lecturer at Deakin University, where she teaches and mentors the next generation of doctors in her field.

  • Prue provides a full range of fertility care, from initial investigation through to advanced treatment. This includes management of conditions such as PMOS, ovulation disorders, endometriosis, male factor sub fertility and recurrent miscarriage.Prue offers egg freezing, ovulation induction, IUI, IVF, ICSI, donor and surrogacy pathways, and inclusive family-building care.   • Yes. You will need a current referral from your GP or specialist to make an appointment. A valid referral also allows you to claim a Medicare rebate on your consultation. Full details are on the New Patients page.

  • Yes. Investigation and management of male infertility is a core part of Prue’s practice. Many couples attend their first appointment together, though individual appointments are also welcome.

Prue provides considered, inclusive care for solo parents, same-sex couples and transgender patients, including donor insemination, reciprocal IVF, surrogacy arrangements and fertility preservation prior to gender affirming treatments.
